I have a lot of tech left over from the satellite crash. A LOT. If you need anything from there.
I can pay you. I have no idea how much, sixty juulan? More?
Audio;
Where did you get the idea for that?
[He's definitely interested. Let's face it, there's no way he wasn't going to be interested.]
You're going to need a lot of metal. And a power source. Yeah, I could do it.
Audio;
My friend Jim showed me a holo-thingy of it. So I thought it would be cool to make him one since his isn't here.
[A beat.]
I mean I don't want you to make it like, actual size or anything. Just so you could hold it up with both hands.
[Giving squinching her mouth to one side of her face, Korra looked to her left, thinking about the power source part.]
Well, I don't know if anything from the satellite crash has a power source. The Tony that left made notes about each piece, it took him a few hours, but they're in English and hard to read.
[Pure scientific terms that was just gibberish in ink form to Korra.]
Is sixty enough? It sounds really complicated to me.
[But then, a glider staff had been really complicated to her.]
Audio;
[Yes, he was totally suggesting that he could build a full size ship. And he could with enough material and time. He's a genius after all.]
Sixty is fine. You know, if I could get a look at that hologram, that would really help. Do you think your friend would let me see it? The notes you have would be great too. I've got a few pieces myself, but it doesn't hurt to compare.
Audio;
[To Korra, Tony was the smartest guy in the room, hand down.]
He might! I mean, I made a tiny version with rock. [She holds up a small Enterprise made of grey stone. After getting pointers from Toph who had a knack for minute detail in miniatures, it looked accurate.] But the holo-thingy- er, hologram had everything. [The NCC-1701 engraved on it is slightly marred. Even bending English isn’t easy.]
Um, I can send you the notes. They’re just really hard to read. Well, hard for me. Whenever you have time, you can look through my tech storage.
Audio;
That's pretty good. Now you just have to make it fly. You know, I bet we could use your powers to make it fly.
[Smart he may be, but Korra is basically talking to a big kid when it comes to building.]
Yeah, send me what you've got. I'll put some plans together for the ship.
Audio;
All right, I'll see if Jim would let you borrow that holo-thingy, er- hologram doo-dad.
[There was a short pause in which Korra seemed to debate something in her head, going from her tilting her head to one side, then the other.]
Um, I also wanted to ask if you could make my console able to use that encryption you used when we first met. But I don't know if that would be too much to ask.
[After all, she had no idea if that took him a while to set up because of how strange the consoles were, at least to her.]
I mean, I'd pay for that too. [She knew how many juulan she had save over the past three months and it seemed like a worthwhile investment and Tony had always been one of the adults she could trust.]
Audio;
[Also he wants to see the ship design with as much detail as possible.]
An encryption program? Trying to have private conversations with your boyfriend?
[It's a good thing she can't see him grin, right?]
Sure, I can do that. I'll have to do it from your side. That okay?
Audio;
H-hey! [That was actually something she had been wanting to use for both her boyfriend and her crush, but she didn't want to go into specifics.] I just need some privacy sometimes.
[She nodded, and then remembering it was audio, she chimed in.]
Yeah, that's fine! I'm in ME-2B. Maybe you can look through that tech stuff I salvaged from the satellite crash. There's a lot of neat stuff in there.
Audio;
Oops. Did I hit the target? Don't worry. I'm discreet.
[And then she kept going.]
Whoa, okay, okay. You don't have to bribe me anymore. Break out the toys. I'm on my way.
Audio;
All right. I'll get everything out of the storage closet!

( it might have been presumptuous to initiate contact, but shockwave needed something to serve as a distraction instead of dwelling. so tony stark gets a cheerful blonde woman smiling at him, nearly the opposite of what someone might expect anyone who claimed to be married to orion would look like. )
video |
[Cheerful smart blondes are definitely a plus for his day. Maybe Shockwave's upbeat personality is what keeps Orion from beating random strangers up? That's going to be Tony's theory.]
video |
( nevermind that the lifetime shockwave is referring to is a few million years. and it's a good theory, except that it doesn't stop him from beating up guilty random strangers. )
video |
In that case, I insist we meet. You and I are kind of in the same business.
[Yes, yes, he is actually not in the business currently. Details.]
video |
( just don't do anything to require one, tony. it's a simple solution for a simple problem! )
video |
[As long as he gets to play with energy and science. And he always deserves his beatings, sorry. What are simple solutions?]
Save me a dance?
video |
A dance? ( a curious expression flickers across shockwave's face, almost one of slight confusion. but it's momentary, replaced by another smile. ) It would be my pleasure.
( one shockwave actually figures out what a dance is. )
video |
[He hears the confusion and mistakes the pause for hesitation. After all, Orion did say they were married. It could be a marital faux pas of some kind with them.]
You don't think he'd get jealous?
video |
( 1) not married & 2) wrong species for any emotional attachment. the idea is almost amusing, if perplexing. )
video |
He has to keep prodding. Curiosity just makes this too tempting.]
Well, I just don't want to get us in trouble. He seemed a little sore the last time I spoke to him. But, to be honest, I'd love to meet you. Since you've worked on alternate power sources before, I was hoping that we might be able to exchange some notes.
video |
( there's fondness in shockwave's voice, as well as a bit of admiration. )
I would like nothing more. And I must admit to being curious about what I assume are obvious differences in what powers your technology to begin with.
video |
I'm resourceful. But I don't hold that against him. I'm sure he's been through a lot.
[He smiles as the conversation shifts back to technology. It's his favorite subject.]
I guarantee you've never seen anything like my tech. Show me yours and I'll show you mine.
video |
That remains to be seen. We're a very advanced species when it comes to technology. ( on account of being sentient technology themselves ) But I'll certainly come up with something with what I can find here.
video |
Advanced species? You're... not from Earth, then?
[Oh, boy. More advanced alien races? Really? Everyone in the universe is more advanced than they are. Why does Earth keep ending up the central hub for everyone in space?]
Still. I know my tech. Not that yours isn't impressive, but we have our own party tricks.
video |
( mostly because there wasn't anything of worth on earth some four million years ago except an easily ignored organic species that hadn't begun to do anything interesting. )
Then I'll enjoy taking a look at it and seeing what you've accomplished for an ( shockwave nearly says 'organic', but manages to stop it from escaping. the slight hiccup is noticeable but the recovery is smooth. ) a human.
video |
[If everyone else is any indication. Honestly, he's happy enough when other races decide not to come to Earth with their conflicts, but all in all he likes learning about them. As long as they don't want to conquer everyone. He hears the fraction of hesitation and smiles just a bit more.]
I'll see if I can surprise you, then.
video |
I look forward to it. Until then, Tony Stark.
video |
[Just kidding. He flashes her a last quick grin before disconnecting.]

[Attached is a note:]
Hi, Tony, I got a bunch of these from home, they're from all over the galaxy. Thought you might want to try some.

What're our options?

[He's not only serious after his exchange with Loki on the roof, he's stern. There's a sharp authority to him that he doesn't often carry.]
We can't afford to start this. We just... give me some time. But we need to be on the same side for this.

[She and Tony just want their people safe. Enemy of my enemy and all.]
We are, Iron Man. [Her own voice is firm, subtly less commanding than it usually is.] I can listen for him.

Keep your eyes and ears open, and let me know if you notice anything strange happening around the city. Not necessarily dangerous--It might not seem that way at first. But whatever power he used to get that done isn't necessarily finished yet. I don't want him to catch us thinking it's all over.

There's a wolf of some kind around, rather large. I don't suppose that's related?
video; locked; encrypted 100%
[He sometimes has to remember people expect him to communicate properly. He can't just snap at them and rush out on his own as much anymore.]
It could be. There are also bigger things to worry about than Loki himself. Whatever he started could have disastrous side effects. And it won't necessarily start coming from him. That's too easy.
video; locked; encrypted 100%
[She rubs her chin, thoughtfully. Loki was the type to just cause trouble for the heck of it, and since Malicant wasn't anywhere around... the good guys were going to be at the wrong end of it.]
I'm not certain. I've heard people fighting it: it doesn't move or sound like a regular wolf.
video; locked; encrypted 100%
[He sounds confident. Maybe even a little harsh, which is his go-to when he has too much on his mind. Things aren't working out the way he wants them to, and Tony isn't a graceful loser. Particularly not when people could be hurt.]
Great. So we've got crazy gods hitting puberty and now abnormal wolves. Not to mention the ominous spirit skulking around making threats. What's next?

[Stop clowning around and pay attention.]
You want a list of everything that could go wrong? I can make one.

I'll take the abridged version. And later. Right now I've got to figure out what we're going to do if he decides to start livening the place up.
